Brown's Southeast Corner
12" x 18"
ink & watercolor

Finished 08.09.08!

This is the historic Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. Jennifer and I stayed here for our tenth wedding anniversary in early April, and it was probably the best 24 hours we've experienced since we've been married. Our suite was on the southwest corner of the fifth floor, overlooking the intersection of 17th and Broadway. Contrary to the Brown Palace's numerous ghost stories dating back to its opening in 1892, we didn't see or hear anything unusual. However, our room was next door to the room of a man who was murdered in 1911 (he was shot in the bar and died at the hospital). The story can be read in the book Murder at the Brown Palace.
